On this album, captured in a single day at the Goatsound Studios, bands were given 30 minutes to complete their track. The results speak for themselves: all the bands did killer versions.

Goatsound/Gamla Grind Records
The next releases we can announce are on Goatsound/Gamla Grind Records.
Birdcage
Birdcage
Scheduled release 14 March 2016
via Goatsound/Gamla Grind Records
Birdcage Self-titled debut album
Birdcage are an instrumental surf rock combo featuring members of The Day Everything Became Nothing, Cut Sick, Useless Children, Fuck…I’m Dead, Blood Duster, Ruiner and many more.
Members of Birdcage may have musical roots in heavier music but this is in an altogether different stratosphere. Birdcage self-titled debut album summons images of vintage nuclear testing and mixes it with raging 1960s instrumental surf sounds.
Birdcage will be available on limited edition digipack CD with cloth patch and as digital download.
Looking Glass
Volume 4
Scheduled release 14 March 2016
Via Goatsound/Gamla Grind
LOOKING GLASS VOLUME 4
The third release in this announcement is the fourth album from Canberian Doom Psych lords, Looking Glass.
Simply titled Volume 4, this album is a fucking killer. On Volume 4, Looking Glass mix all the classic rock you would expect from the likes of Rush and Sabbath, but Looking Glass are not content to merely ape the past. They cleverly take the classic sounds to new depths with really great songs and exceptional playing.
By far their most accomplished album, Looking Glass Volume 4 will grab you from the first listen.
Looking Glass Volume 4 will appeal to the doom rock community looking for more hooks and will allow them to spread their tentacles into all the rock sub-genres. It’s totally fucking killer.
Looking Glass Volume 4 will be available on limited edition digipack CD with cloth patch and as digital download.
Battlesick
Questions & Comments?
Scheduled release 14 March 2016
Via Goatsound/Gamla Grind
BATTLESICK QUESTIONS, COMMENTS?
And finally, we have Battlesick. Melbourne’s Battlesick will release their debut album Questions, Comments?
Battlesick mix bass rich and vocal heavy electric sounds that land somewhere in between Industrial, punk, dub, grunge, electro pop and alt rock. Catchy and hypnotic while still maintaining a strange presence that is hard to categorise, these songs will stick in your head. Time will tell whether that’s a good thing.
Battlesick Questions, Comments? will be available on limited edition digipack CD and as digital download.
Exciting Stuff for 2016 from Goatsound/Gamla Grind
Also coming from the Goatsound/Gamla Grind label later this year are some great reissues and even more new and exciting stuff.
BLUNT SHOVEL
Blunt Shovel will release their debut album “Get in the Ground!”. For lovers of metal done right and tight, this is no frills, aggressive riff-filled death metal.
CHRISTBAIT
Christbait fans will see a long awaited back catalogue reissue. This release will be the culmination of way to much work and the packaging will be great. The product speaks for itself. This band totally ruled Melbourne in the early 1990s, putting on shows that are still talked about today. Long overdue.
Headless
Headless will release their debut EP. Old school, violent sounding death metal, this will slay.
PHANTOM PANDA WIZARD MASTER SMASHER
Phantom Panda Wizard Master Smasher will release their debut album. These fucking oddballs who are PPWMS unleash their unhinged debut album. This band is nuts. Think Fantomas, bungle-esque-styled racket played by fucking laser wielding animals and you are getting there.
